Toyota Motor Corp, which has recalled more than 8 million vehicles around the world for problems with accelerators, has decided to recall its new Prius hybrid sold in Japan to fix a braking software glitch. Safety regulators in both the United States and Japan are investigating breaking problems with the Prius.
Fiat India, plans to add 10 new dealers into its existing network by year end.Fiat India recently opened its 100th showroom in the country in Mumbai, taking the total number of its dealerships to four in the metropolis. The new dealership offers facility of sales, service and spare parts under one roof.
With 100 dealers, the company offers 106 points of sales and service outlets across the country. Fiat India Automobiles (FIAL) is a 50-50 industrial joint venture between Fiat Group Automobiles S.p.A., (Fiat) and Tata Motors originally incorporated on January 2, 1997.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has marginally increaseed the prices of its models, excluding recently launched Eeco, Swift (Petrol) and Gypsy models. The price increase is to partly recover the increase in the input costs arising out of raw material costs over the past one year. For some models the increase in the costs are being absorbed by the company, in the light of market situation.
The price increase varies from 0.12 per cent (Ritz VDi) to 1.90 per cent (Dzire LXi). For the affected models, the average increase in prices is around 0.6 percent. The introductory prices for the refreshed Estilo, which was introduced in August 2009, stand withdrawn. The new prices for Estilo variants increase by Rs 1,243/- to Rs 2,486/-.
BMW X1 will be the cheapest BMW in India when it gets launched by end of this year. The base variant uses a 2.0 liter diesel will cost 24 lakhs and rear wheel drive. Based on the 3 series, the X1 is being brought in as a CKD and will be assembled at the BMW’s Chennai plant where the 3-Series is manufactured.
Honda India’s small car will have around 80% localisation and will be rolled out from the company’s plant in Greater Noida. The company also said it expects the small car to sell in hot numbers. The company is also looking to increase the use of local components of its existing models in India to around the same percentage.
